How can you get the springs on a TR3 wrong way round
I was told Sid the TR3 that his springs was back to front
That is the back springs
I think some one was having a lend of me
Some one I hope can tell me the truth ,,,,',,,,,,,
As I am replacing all the bushes on the rear springs
Including the large eye bush and the (D) bolts
D bolts it took time and patience
Sid's had been in since 1956 and powder coated in 25 years ago
The shock absorbers completely stuffed after 8 years
Hope to put his back end back together next week
Never to far in a TR

Paul, more likely having a lend.

Using correct parts, the leaf springs can only go in one way - larger eye to the front with a cushioned bush on a pin through the chassis. Smaller eye to the back with 2 piece rubber/poly bushes on a hanger.

For rebuilding original shockers - S G Leslie & Sons in Heidelberg West, Melb do a good job. Or new from the club.

Rgds,

Viv
