For light relief from my head gasket problems, I thought I would sort my fuel gauge!

My fuel gauge read low since the rebuild. When full with fuel the gauge reads about two thirds.
Before I installed the sender [bought from a local Triumph repairer] I checked the resistances - empty read 35 ohms and full read 85 ohms [I should have been suspicious!]. Darcie rebuilt the gauge so I trust it [simple tests for max. and min.show all OK and the float is OK, anyway].
Am I right in thinking that it is the wrong sender? If so, a source of the correct one?
Any comments, fellas?

John
