Has anyone had problems with their coils failing when using Pertronix ignition? It seems funny that the coil failed in Tasmania and it appears another has failed again? Do you have to use a different coil?

Never had a problem in 12 years. There are 2 x types of coil you need the 3 ohm resistance coil not the 1.3 ohm that is used when there is a resistor in the ignition circuit.
My understanding is that the 1.3 ohm with the resistor uses about 6 volt once the car is started. Continious 12 volt is what blows it.
