Any help would be appreciated.

Tricky. The shocks were never meant to be reconditioned, particularly at home; just buy new ones. The Register stocks new though there have been some problems. SG leslie in Melbourne will recondition at a cost. Beyond that NOS Imports in the USA have been used by a couple of members and they are happy. There is also Apple Hydraulics in the USA. They don't come cheap.

I have had three of the new Register shocks fail on me. Two catastrophically at speed on bumps and one that started leaking badly despite it never having been installed.
As Terry says the original ones can be overhauled, I can't recall who does them. I believe the Register ones cannot be repaired.

Hi Stuart
I got mine adjustable competition lever arm rear shocks from NOS Imports in the US. I am very happy with them so far. Cost was $650 delivered to my home. You can send the old ones over to them for a discount. but the postage makes it not worth doing that.

I had mine done in 1985 at WW shocks.
Apart from general maintenance they are still working, no leaks.
W.W. are still alive and will quote a price/time on the phone.
W.W. Shock Absorbers. 33 Matheson Street Virginia, Queensland 4014 Tel: 07 3265 2133 http://wwshockabsorbers.com/
No need to export Australian dollars or buy reproduction crap.
