Hi everyone
Is there anything I can do to stop the TR3 rear leaver arm shock absorbers from leaking as this is the second one I have had from the club that is leaking after about 2000k and it means Sid (TR3) is off the road for awhile sending them back waiting for them to be checked before a new one comes also the cost to send them back every time
I may have to keep a spare set in the shed
Paul

Paul, there has been quite a bit on the forum re the register/Moss shock absorbers. Ian Wall has brought some reconstructed shocks in from the USA which he is happy with. They are not just rebuilt but also have different modern seals. There are people in Melbourne and Brisbane who recondition but you really should not have to recondition a new shock absorber. Actually most of the failings have not been so much the leaking but actual breakage of the bell cranks.

Hi Paul, I have had new Register shocks fail on an after tour run out of Albury. They both failed on bumps at speed, it was a dangerous situation.
I was given two brand new ones in their packaging with the long door TR2 I got from Bob Cousins. One was leaking still in its packaging.
In my view they are to be avoided. Get some original ones rebuilt.

Hi Paul
I got my adjustable competition lever arm shocks from NOS IMPORTS in the US they are rebuilt units and are done very well.
They were A$650 landed here for the pair. Freight was a fair amount.
The breakdown was
Shocks US$163.90 each
Core cost US$30.00 each
Freight US$95.95 for the pair
Total US $483.75
I am very happy with them. Hope this might help.
Regards Ian
